7 Years After Taking My 1st Meditation Class
Throwback to some of my first meditations ever a @mndflmeditation in West Village NYC
🎟They had just opened, my friend Ralph was teaching there and he handed me a few free passes. Making my way to that cushion was one of the best decisions I've made.
⤵️I pretty much experienced a complete life pivot after I started to access my internal landscape, I was so ready to shift. My NYC dream of being a stand up comedian had ceased being my dream and I was so confused. I had no inspiration or ideas about what to do next, only a long list of what I DIDN'T want to do.
🕯I certainly didn't get all the answers right away when I began practicing meditation. Some days I was bored, distracted, my back ached and 30 min felt like 3 hours. As my mind began to yield to a calmer, more present vibration I started to notice I could, amazingly, enjoy myself while the strings of my life unfolded into a completely different direction than I could have ever imagined.
🌅7 years later, almost to the day, I'm teaching another meditation and breathwork class for the BIPOC community. It's been a wild 7 years full of tough valleys but mostly unknown dreams come true. Here's to the next 7 years, Ajo & Ase!!
