Crisis Support Is Here!!

CRISIS SUPPORT INFORMATION

WTF happened to the world!? In like 2 weeks we’re just living in another reality. I’m sending lots of love to everyone. We’re going to get through this and luckily there’s lots of support to be had. Please check out the links and resources below. Please let me know if you’re looking for assistance in an area you don’t see below!! Email hello@semiwoo.com with any questions or comments.

  1. Unemployment Insurance: You can get unemployment if you work gigs, freelance, were furloughed etc. Basically if you lost income due to the virus, you are eligible! Wait times are high and getting help in non-English languages can be rough but stick with it. We deserve this $$$, we already paid into it!! https://www.careeronestop.org/LocalHelp/UnemploymentBenefits/find-unemployment-benefits.aspx

  2. Mental Health: The psychological fall out from social distancing can be overwhelming because it’s been hitting people without pre-existing mental health journeys. Virtual mental health care was already a thing and is covered by all private insurance under the Affordable Care Act  (though insurers make it so hard to find that out!) Check out these companies here: https://www.verywellmind.com/best-online-therapy-4691206  **The CDC also has some hotline numbers do cope with stress and anxiety: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/managing-stress-anxiety.html ** if you’re on the brink and you need an ear, some support: https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/talk-to-someone-now/

  3. Cash Payments: Most individuals earning less than $75,000 can expect a one-time cash payment of $1,200 and  families would get $500 per child. The cash payments are based on either your 2018 or 2019 tax filings or if you receive Social Security Benefits.  #bitchbettahavemy money

  4. There are loans for Small Businesses (under 500 employees) for payroll etc. https://www.sba.gov/page/coronavirus-covid-19-small-business-guidance-loan-resources

  5. Student Loans: All loan and interest payments are deferred through Sept. 30 without penalty to the borrower for all federally owned student loans. But: call your lender and mention your inability to pay DUE TO coronavirus. Call your lender to discuss deferring payments with private student loans.

  6. Food Assistance: SNAP benefits are still rolling for help getting food and meals and Food Banks are stocked and open (at least in the PNW). Breath, reach out and receive. https://www.feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank

  7. Taxes: The new tax deadline has been moved from April 15 to July 15. You can expect a refund if you have already filed or plan to file.

  8. Health Insurance: If you lost your health insurance benefits due to layoff/furlough etc. you are eligible to apply for Medicare in the Special Enrollment Period. All coronavirus care and testing is covered by insurance! https://www.healthcare.gov/

  9. Credit Payments: You can skip payments for credit cards, mortgages and auto payments BUT you have to call and mention your inability to pay is due to the virus. Don’t just not pay! Call your lender, try and get things in writing.

  10. Still Hiring if you Need Work: The first responders in the crisis are truly America's Finest! Grocery, delivery, unemployment agencies, lab work, healthcare and many customer service outlets are overwhelmed and hiring. Be safe, wear a mask at work, we support you!

  11. Volunteer Efforts: Work a mental health hotline, sew face masks for local hospitals,, buy local and supporting small business first,  order CSA’s and subscription foods from local farmers and butchers (my personal fav @natureslaststand), take classes online of ALL kinds, TIP BIG for everything, write letters to your elders/family and local senior care centers. Be the one to schedule calls with friends and family (this is a great time to get the hell over any petty arguments or estrangements cuz we all have something in common: survival during crisis!)

  12.  Connection: I’m offering free 20 minute calls if you want to laugh, cry, get help with any assistance information, pray/meditate, get some woo vibes, Whatever!!! BOOK HERE
