Moon Reading: Full Moon in Gemini

-Release the pressure to be completely understood. For me, the scariest part of communicating is the thought that I might be misunderstood. That’s a lot of pressure for something that is absolutely going to happen from time to time! We’re all looking at the same world through different lenses. Yes, we tend to gravitate toward people whose lenses relate to ours more closely but we’ll definitely bump into people whose lenses will be too narrow to grasp our points of view. That is not your/a problem. Do not make the struggle to be understood by everyone your mission or goal. Do not let being misunderstood haunt you. Instead seek to understand yourself and others around you more, widening your lens and attracting more understanding energy around you. Change your focus, being misunderstood is not that deep whereas being understood is a magical thing, offer/receive it with gratitude!
-Communication is more than verbal. What are you communicating to yourself? What stories do you tell yourself, how do they paint your world, when and why were they created and how do they affect the lens you see through? You might find some unhelpful, outdated stories in your roster that were created to protect and now do more harm than good. Boot em. What good is a point of view that requires you to remain narrow minded and stagnant? What media, narratives, perspectives and content do you feed yourself and if “you are what you eat” how is that currently showing up for you IRL? A communication reset may be in order at this moon moment. “Marie Kondo” the mind by dumping things out in a hearty journaling or list making session (feel free to use the prompts above). Be intentional about the stories/communications you choose to move forward with and be open to rewriting/scrapping stories when it’s required for expansion.
-Communication Challenge: Reflective listening is when you listen with the intention for understanding vs. listening with the intention to state your point of view when the speaker has stopped talking. I’m a bit rusty and I’m noticing it takes a lot of brain power to truly listen without forming an opinion/response. You might even reflect back what the speaker has said as a way to gain proper understanding, giving them the opportunity to refine, confirm and/or elaborate. This is an advanced communication tool as we often communicate to BE understood, not necessarily TO understand. Beware that asking questions can sneakily end up manipulating the conversation. Remember your intention, to listen with the intention for understanding.
