Quick Start Meditation Practice

When it comes to meditation practice, I like to just go ahead and build in the part where thoughts and distractions compete for my attention. That way, I'm not so hard on myself when I inevitably lose my focus! 

 Infusing self-compassion into your meditation practice is key. As you get more familiar with the power of silence and calm, remember to stay kind, light and curious with yourself. 

You'll feel the subtle yet profound effects more robustly such as improved ability to focus and, most importantly for me, the ability to calm and ground my central nervous  system with more ease and for a longer period of time. 

Quick Start Meditation Practice

  • Focus on the rise and fall of your breath until you,

  • Become distracted. Eventually you will...

  • Realize you've become distracted (Nice!)

  • Flex your "focus muscle" and return to Step 1

Learn to practice with a guided meditation and if you haven't tried it yet, join a group that is practicing together  (more folks= stronger focus vibes!)
